Using 0.6.2 and 0.7 from ATrpms, I see the same issue on FC5. The
box is an amd64 with a PVR500 that shows up as /dev/video{1,2}.
(A PCHDTV 3000 gets 0 unless I do violent things in modprobe.conf).
I run "mplayer /dev/video1" in one window, while trying
"ivtv-tune -d /dev/video1 -cNN" in another window. If I change
channels without stopping mplayer, the reads hang after a few channel
changes. "cat /dev/video1 > foo.mpg" hangs and leaves an empty
foo.mpg. "modprobe -r ivtv; modprobe ivtv" restores operation.
If I stop mplayer, change channel, mplayer seems to work indefinitely.
The second tuner (/dev/video2) doesn't seem to have any problems
changing channels, capture active or not. No dmesg output corresponds
to any channel changes, so I'm attaching just the card probe output.
