In my case 2.4.32 makes no difference (my report was under Redhat 9 / 2.4.32

Looks like a compile failure.  I am going to go through the remaining
2.4.x kernel issues, but I won't have time until after this
weekend.

Using the latest 2.4 should fix anything now, though.
