Last week I upgrade my kernel to kernel-2.6.16-1.2115 and at the same
time changed ivtv from 0.7 (which worked even though I shouldn't have
been using it) to ivtv-0.6.2-110.rhfc4.at. The firmware was unchanged.
Testing this with myth tv in Live TV mode, seemed fine. I have 2
PVR500s and all 4 tuners produced good results.
However when I came to watch a recorded program I found that the
picture was interspersed with distorted frames. I've attached shots of
two frames to illustrate this (they were taken using mplayer on the
created .mpg file, so I know it's nothing to do with myth's playback).
This only seems to happen on one channel (BBC1, freqid 484250), though
I didn't record enough channels to be sure of this.
In summary, this combination works for me:
kernel-2.6.16-1.2108_FC4
ivtv-0.7-111.rhfc4.at
ivtv-kmdl-2.6.16-1.2108_FC4-0.7-111.rhfc4.at
and this doesn't:
kernel-2.6.16-1.2115_1.rhfc4.cubbi_swsusp2
ivtv-0.6.2-110.rhfc4.at
ivtv-kmdl-2.6.16-1.2115_1.rhfc4.cubbi_swsusp2-0.6.2-110.rhfc4.at
In both cases the firmware rpms are:
ivtv-firmware-audio-0.0.1-5.at
ivtv-firmware-dec-2.02.023-9.at
ivtv-firmware-enc-2.04.024-9.at
I've also attached the ivtv part of /var/log/messages, though this all
looks fine to me.
If I've done something stupid, I'd be glad to hear what. Otherwise
please consider this a bug report.
