I have an HVR-1600 on a Pentium 4 2Ghz machine here running Ubuntu 7.10.
Overall it works great. Good picture/sound etc running mplayer or vlc
on /dev/video0. I do see some unknown command messages from the cx18
driver in the syslog though. Also, It gets a little choppy running
LiveTV with MythTV. I think it is a problem with my MythTV setup though
since mplayer and vlc seem to play the stream OK. But I thought I would
post to you guys to see if you had any suggestions. And to give you some
proper kudos. Thanks for the hard work.

I see this in the syslog:
[ 2452.422049] cx18-0: Unknown cmd 9b
[ 2452.422056] cx18-0: Unknown cmd 9f
[ 2452.422058] cx18-0: Unknown cmd a1
[ 2452.422060] cx18-0: Unknown cmd 9d

I get this message in the mythtvbackend when it stutters.

MPEGRec(/dev/video0) Error: select timeout - ivtv driver has stopped
responding.

Here is some relevant info.
