To get rid of the Pinnacle related bttv stuff, I compiled a new kernel 
(2.6.10-rc3) without bttv drivers. Then I realized that I needed the tuner 
module, so I downloaded the latest bttv snapshot and compiled it but did no 
install. After that I manualy copied the tuner.ko 
to /lib/modules/2.6.10-rc3/extra. That directory has the following modules in 
it:

ivtv.ko
msp3400.ko
saa7115.ko
saa7127.ko
tuner.ko
tveeprom.ko

lsmod output:
