The plot thickens. I just tried thousands of diffrenet frequencies (at 10mhz intervals) with that shell script, and i couldn't get one signal to work correctly, through mplayer.
Now, here's the kicker: If i capture the signal using cat /dev/video0 > /home/mythtv/test.mpg , and then send it to a friend with a mpeg2 decoder, it works fine (it's a little fuzzy), but it's 100% watchable. now, theoritically, my card just captured a signal. But i can't view it in mplayer, and i can't view it in mythtv. Is it possible that i don't have a mpeg2 decoder? or something else has eluded me? I've seen the light at the end of the tunnel, help me get that last 100 yards!
