Is this really the *full* output? My guess is that the tveeprom message is mentioning a different card in your system (a PVR-350, perhaps)--which would answer your question about why the MSP34xx. How about some more details for us???
Sorry, my bad. I was sloppy. I didn't load tveeprom.
Actually, you shouldn't load tveeprom. It will be loaded automatically by the ivtv driver to gather the information necessary for autodetection of your hardware (which you are not--but *should* be--using).
Do you have a tuner option specified in your modprobe.conf? According to this, you have a type 4 tuner, but according to the output you posted previously, you have a type 2 tuner--and in both cases someone is forcing the driver to the wrong type--type 39. The tuner will not work if forced to use type 39.... tveeprom: tuner = Philips FM1236 MK3 (idx = 58, type = 4) ... ivtv: Setting Tuner 39 tuner: type set to 39 (LG NTSC (newer TAPC series)) by ivtv i2c driver #0
out of /etc/modprobe.conf:
install ivtv { /sbin/modprobe tveeprom ; /sbin/modprobe tuner; /sbin/modprobe msp3400; } ; /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install ivtv]
Take this out. The ivtv driver will automatically load all dependent modules.
remove ivtv /sbin/modprobe -r --first-time --ignore-remove ivtv && { /sbin/modprobe -r tuner; /sbin/modprobe -r msp3400; /sbin/modprobe -r tveeprom ; /bin/true;
}
