I have the same problem here in Finland, tuner is: Philips FM1216 ME MK3 (idx = 57, type = 38). As someone posted earlier, there seems to be some kind of problem with the tuner initialization. I tested the card with several kernels and driver versions, even installed KnoppMyth but nothing seemed to help. Finally I tried installing Windows and then warm booting to Linux. That way the card works just fine. When the card doesn't work, ivtvctl-I reports status registers 1E = 0x40 and 1F = 0xc0. And VIDEO_STATUS says BAD or something. Now that it's working, running ivtvctl -I I get the following: check SAA7115 input signal ioctl: VIDEO_STATUS = Sat/Dvd SAA7115 reg[STATUS#1 - 0x1E] = 82 Color Standard (D0-D1): PAL White peak loop (D2): Not activated Gain value for act.lum. I can do a cold boot to Linux and get more debugging output if needed.. It is such a waste of space to keep the Windows there just to be able to initialize the card :) -Tuukka ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by: Beat the post-holiday blues Get a FREE limited edition SourceForge.net t-shirt from ThinkGeek.
