I haven't had an issue with anything like this on my pvr-250, but I have
always used mplex (from mjpegtools) rather than dvb-mplex. I'll attach the
simple perl script that I wrote to simplify DVD preparation. I have taken
probably around 20 VHS videos and put them onto DVD with this without
problem, using this script. Either rename the .nuv file to .mpg or edit the
script to include .nuv along with .avi and .mpg. The script requires
mjpegtools, dvd-author and transcode to work with all of the options.

Subject: Re: [ivtv-devel] Best way to Demux raw PVR capture file in
preparation for burning to DVD?

I've found that some captures (in particular ones from analog
tape) have sync glitches in the MPEG2 stream from the hauppauge cards. A
lot of tools (mplex, tcmplex, dvb-mplex most notably) cannot deal with
anything other than a *static* Audio/Video offset. These glitched streams
change the offset in the middle, so they get broken. Here's the first bit
of a dvb-mplex command on a chunk of video I know has this sync problem:

>dvb-mplex -t DVD -o sync_dvbmplexDVD.nuv sync.nuv
Reading from sync.nuv
Output File is: sync_dvbmplexDVD.nuv
Setting up for DVD mux

Opening tmp_as.mp2 for audio demux
Opening tmp_vs.m2v for video demux
Demuxing 100 %
VPTS - APTS = 66ms
<snip>

Notice that it starts out by demuxing the A and V. Then it
calculates the offset (based on most likely the first A/V set), and
proceeds to mux it together using that static offset.

I've looked at 'replex' a bit, which I think is a fork of
dvb-mplex. It appears to do a better job at maintaining PTS sync. I
looked into this awhile back (December) and did manage to find a
workaround for all this. I wanted to do lossless cutting as well, though:
