I had intermittent problems with sound and it turned out the card was overheating, If you have a small case make sure the airflow round the card is good and put a fan in if necessary.

I have a PVR250 model 980 (tuner type 39) running in a MSI Hermes (845GV) box.
SuSE-based linux installation with kernel 2.4.24, and ivtv-0.1.9. Recording
done with MythTV 0.16. I'm using the 'recommended' 1.18.21.22252.inf PVR
firmware when building the ivtv module.

Every so often (could be a day, could be a week) a recording will be
distorted, and all subsequent recordings have the same distortion until a hard
(full power-off) boot is performed. The distortion is not confined to a
particular resolution or channel.

The distortion is shown as wavy vertical lines in lower resolutions (320x240),
or as blue artifacts and general blockiness at higher resolutions. This is the
log prior to my last bad recording (last night).

I'd welcome any tips on debugging further or possible solutions if this is a known issue. I haven't seen much on the list about this particular problem, though.

Thanks,
Mark
