Hi Sorry I mucked the numbers up..... I meant to divide the numbers defined in the PAL settings in the Linux driver by 2 which should have given:
Original settings: 30 = 00 31 = 0E 32 = 01 or ACPF = 01E000 34 = CE 35 = FB 36 = 30 or ACNI = 30FBCE Calculation: ACNI = 30FBCE / 2 = 187DE7 ACPF = 01E000 / 2 = 00F000 New settings: 30 = 00 31 = F0 32 = 00 or ACPF = 00F000 34 = E7 35 = 7D 36 = 18 I divided the numbers by 2, becuase when I captured 10 seconds of audio using /dev/video24 using the original settings and tried to play it back at 48kHz I got 20 seconds of very slow audio, or if I read it in as 96kHz, 10 seconds of OK audio. However using these settings the audio is still not brilliant, unless you reduce the volume level going into the capture card. (I did this using an external mixer) If you reduce the audio level in this way the audio sounds perfect. I assume this is because the amplification in the 53L32AKZ Audio Analog to digital converter IC is causing clipping. By the way how did you calculate your values...Are the crystals on your board marked as shown below or are the frequencies actually marked on crystals and I assume you used assumed a master clock ratio of 128x for the CS53L32A. D321C4I ( on the xtal adjacent to the SAA7115HL) D184A4I ( on the xtal adjacent to the MSP3415G) Obviously it would be nicer to control the gain of the ADC using software and if we are going to have a look at doing that it would make sense to adjust the master clock ratio on the ADC and so use the settings for the SAA7115 that all the other cards use.
