I had this problem too, but there is a solution if you look at the very
bottom of the "Extracting the Firmware" section of the WIKI:
http://ivtv.writeme.ch/tiki-index.php?page=ExtractingTheFirmware

You basically just need to do a quick hack of the ivtvfwextract.pl script.
