Hi Mike, I'm having similar problems with my PVR500. Just static from the tuners, even though type 57 is detected. I noticed one thing that we have in common - both of our cars report rev D492. Everyone else's I've seen show rev D292 unless they have a PAL card.
Is it possible that the D492 has a different tuner? Looking at the card, the only thing under the sticker on the tuner is "Phillips" engraved in the metal. No model number. How can I tell? This is an NTSC card. I bought it online as an OEM Whitebox from mwave.com.
