Also - could you post your modprobe.conf settings? I used to have those 'tuner not set messages' until I put 'options ivtv ivtv_debug=1 tuner=58,58,58,58 tda9887=0,0' into my modprobe.conf although I'm confused as to why I need 58 repeated or why I need it at all seeing as the driver seems to detect a type 58 tuner, same as you seem to get.
