Hi, I'm experiencing problems with the sound on my Hauppauge 500MCE. I got it
two work twice (on a total of 40-50 attempts or so). In both cases, sound
disappeared after changing channels and I couldn't get it back. So hardware
seems to be fine, using mplayer /dev/video0 to watch the video and ivtvctl
-r xxxx to tune.
I'm not sure if this is helpful in this particular case, but the only way I can get sound from my pvr500 is to add 'options cx25840 audiofmt=0x04' to my modprobe.conf.
