I had this same problem this week, but I found out it was due to my recordedmarkup database table somehow getting messed up. I deleted and re-created the table, and then had to commercial flag all of my recordings over again. For the programs that were not commercial flagged, when I would FF past 3x, it would go for a few seconds and then freeze. I would have to resume normal playback and then do the FF again. Also, I don't know if you have this problem as well or not, but while FFing the total recording length would start dropping down dramatically. Some important information, an addition to the commercial flagging must be stored in that table or something. After re-commercial flagging everything, all went back to normal. FF/RW works great, and the total recording length does not move anymore. You might want to take a look and make sure all your tables are in good working order. ~Lou
