My system is a Mandriva LE2005 with KDE When I select 'set up TV Card' for the Hauppauge PVR 350 card, the Control Center correctly suggests PAL Western Europe <my Name> which I accept and exit. It then scans for channels ending with ' Session scanning for TV channels exiting with status 1'.
The ivtv install had prompted the creation of an icon on my desktop for KdeTV. Clicking o that and it comes up and freezes. tvtime says 'No signal' and if prompted 'Cannot open capture device /dev/video0' This does exist, along with video24 and video32. /etc/modules.conf is empty /etc/modprobe.conf includes a single ivtv line that reads: options ivtv tuner=5 ivtv_std=2 I haven't yet changed or deleted the kernel's msp3400. dmesg shows the line tveeprom: tuner = Philips FI1246 MK2 (idx = 11, type 1) , and ivtv: Tuner Type 1, Tuner formats etc Later on it says ivtv: Setting Tuner 5 tuner: type set to 5 (Philips PAL_BG (FI1216 and compatibles )) by ivtv i2c driver I get the feeling I'm pretty close.
