Hello -
Yes, I'm one of those dreaded newbie's trying to learn FC3, MythTV,
ivtv and lots of other stuff that is relatively foreign to me. I
apologize in advance if I am making a stupid mistake, and I'd greatly
appreciate any help you might be able to provide.
Just to clarify, I had a single PVR-350 installed and working
without issue. As best I know, I simply made the changes for the
additional PVR-350 and now I only have a single /dev/fb0 (in addition
to the fb1 for the monitor) that seems to be a collision of both
TV-outs and therefore barely works at all.
My general question is: How do I configure ivtv-fb so that it will
recognize both of my PVR-350 cards installed in the computer and
create an individual framebuffer for each ('/dev/fb1' and '/dev/fb2').
I'm running ivtv version 0.2.0 (rc3j) using a pre-compiled
distribution of FC3 and Kernel version 2.6.11-1.14_FC3. I have
followed Jarod's website on building this system and have used
pre-compiled packages as he guide instructs.
I have the following in my modprobe.conf file:
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 ivtv
alias char-major-81-1 ivtv
alias tveeprom tveeprom-ivtv
alias msp3400 msp3400-ivtv
install ivtv /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install ivtv; /sbin/modprobe ivtv-fb
When I run '/sbin/modprobe ivtv-fb' from the command line (after
rebooting without the line in modprobe.conf), I get this in the
/var/log/messages:
Jun 1 18:42:57 Myth1 kernel: ivtv-osd: Framebuffer module loaded

Jun 1 18:42:57 Myth1 kernel: ivtv-osd: Framebuffer is at

0x30
Jun 1 18:42:57 Myth1 kernel: ivtv-osd: fb0: iTVC15 TV out frame buffer device
With the exception of the MTRRs and warning lines, I got the exact
same lines with a single PVR-350, so I suspect those two lines are
clues into the issue. Is there some sort of option I need to set to
let ivtv-fb know that it needs to create multiple frame buffers?
Just to provide a bit of additional information, I'm able to
successfully capture video from both /video0 and /video1, which are
the tuners in each of the two hauppauge cards, so presumably I have
that configured correctly.
I think I've provided sufficient detail, but just to be thorough,
here's the [pertinent] output from 'lspci -v'

Finally, when I'm trying to display information to the TV-OUTS (using
/dev/fb0), I get the following in the /var/log/messages:

Finally, as Jarod recommends, here's the ivtv output from /var/log/message:
