I had a KnoppMyth R5A10 with a PVR250 that worked very well until we had a bad lighting storm and the PVR250 was unable to lock onto the picture (The picture would wiggle and lose sync not matter what the channel was).
So I assumed that some of the tuner hardware was fried and I went looking for a new tuner card. I came across the PVR500 and decided to take a chance since I had been considering getting a second 250 anyway. In any case, it is not working at all. When it comes up the screen is moving color blobs and I get no sound on either tuner. I followed the directions in. http://www.bitbenderforums.com/~ralpha6/knoppmyth/knoppmythtv.htm Which told me to setup the following alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c alias char-major-81 videodev alias char-major-81-0 ivtv alias char-major-81-1 ivtv options cx25840 no_black_magic=1 options ivtv ivtv_std=0 tuner=57,57 tda9887=0,0 ivtv_debug=1 options cx25840 i2c_enable=1 options saa7127 i2c_enable=-1 options msp3400 once=1 simple=1 and to use the following ivtvctl lines. /usr/local/bin/ivtvctl -d /dev/video0 -u 1 -f width=720,height=480 -p 6 /usr/local/bin/ivtvctl -d /dev/video1 -u 1 -f width=720,height=480 -p 6 And I also tried some of the troubleshooting stuff in http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/ But nothing seems to work. I get the same color blobs no matter what. I even tried the latest driver in the development and in the stable releases to no avail. (logs detailed below). I installed the PVR 500 card in my XP box to confirm that it does indeed work, but I would really rather use Myth since I already have three frontends setup. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any ideas. When I Used the dev tree drivers.
