I just wanted to confirm that I also get a blank screen when using mplayer -vo xv (tried different additional arguments) in a previously working setup (0.3.6o) now with 0.3.6z+Ians ioctl-patch. The funny thing is, that I do get a picture when I use mythtv to output via xv ("use PVR-350 decoder hardware" disabled in MythTV) ... The picture shows heavy vsync tearing/flickering in a vertically sliding window, that is the tearing might be in the top half of the picture and some seconds later only at the bottom. Hope that helps nailing it down.
