Hi,
I experience the same thing. Because I often power down the HTPC, it is very anoying.
When the chip is found, it keep working even after soft / warm reboots. But when I poweron the PC
after it is powerdown for a couple of hours, it can't probe the chip most of the time.
I even changed the lirc_i2c driver, so it just use the 0x71 address,
instead of probing it. But that doesn't seem to fix the problem. It
looks like the chip is really powered down or in a unusable state.
I'm using lirc 0.7.0 with a PVR-150 patch.
Robin.
