This works pretty well for me, though I couldn't test TV out. But the CC data does show up on vbi4 when video is played.
One thing I noticed though is that CC is in all uppercase. This was the same with 0.3.7 but I think with 0.2.0 I was seeing proper case. This is hard to say though, since it could depend on the program.
How is the character case encoded in CC data? Is it basically each character either lower or upper case (like in ASCII) or are there some shift-in/shift-out codes (kind of like attributes)?
