I think you really need to determine if this is a decoder or encoder issue (output or input).
Ideally you would grab an mpeg recording of something showing the problem. (cat /dev/video0 > file.mpg would be good enough assuming you are allready tuned to the channel. Then you can just play this back through the video decoder (cat file.mpg > /dev/video16). You will need to set the alpha level to 0 to be able to see it. Then play it back with mplayer to both he x server on the 350 and one on a normal graphics card. If it shows up in all 3 case then it is a recording/input issue. If it only shows up in 1 of the 3 playback scenarios then it is a problem with that playback method. Once we know where the problem occurs we can think about what might be causing it and how to fix it.
