Which v4l-cx25840.fw is included? It must be the firmware file that is
14264 bytes long. Older firmwares have problems with SECAM.

No, it doesn't check the legacy location. Only if the kernel does not
support hotplug does it fall back to the old method. It's detected at
compile time too (kernel config option).

Not as far as I know. And no, I don't understand either why every distro
seems to create their own firmware directory :-( The wiki Firmware page
shows how to find the hotplug directory in the firmware.agent file.
Perhaps that can be automated.
