Hi all,
I am using ivtv 0.4.0 with MythTV. I am taking a feed from my Sky
digibox into my PVR-350 card with an S-Video lead and outputting to my
TV with an S-Video lead.
The video quality seems clear and stable but the problem I have is
that it does not look as sharp as the original Sky feed. It looks a
little blurry and the edges are not as clear.
I have tried plugging the Sky box directly into the TV via the S-Video
lead, so I know its not the lead.
Is there a way of improving the sharpness of the feed? Is there a way
that the quality of the video that comes into the PVR-350 is identical
to the Sky feed?
Cheers,
Jono

Hi Jono,
Did you get this resolved?
I checked my setup (I also have S-Video from Sky, but Scart to TV) I couldn't see an real difference in quality.
There is an option within Skys setup to change between RGB & PAL but I think that's to do with SCART (Changing had no difference to my picture quality).
The only other things that I can think of are your bitrate settings and the dnr settings. Unfortunatly as I never had problems with my picture quality after setting my bit rates, I'm no expert on what dnr settings actually do.
This is the output from my ivtvctl -C this should let you compare against your own settings.
ioctl IVTV_IOC_G_CODEC ok
