Problem:

When I 'cat' from /dev/video0 I always get a zero length file.

Setup:

I am running Fedora Core 4. (2.6.14-1.1656_FC4) with the latest yum
upgrades.
I also have the Hauppauge PVR-500MCE (Philips FQ1236A MK4).
I have a AMD64 3.2GHz.

I have downloaded the 0.4.2 version of ivtv.

Everything I have read says it should just work from this point.
What tests should I do next?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-Grant

/etc/modprobe.conf
...
# ivtv (PVR-500MCE)
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 ivtv
alias char-major-81-1 ivtv
