I had this happen to me--when I would seek the picture got really blocky and repeated itself. When this was going on some of the MPEG streams I recorded appear corrupt or irregular in some way--e.g. the 'file' command doesn't properly identify them. I never did figure out what was going on--I followed a recommendation on the ivtvdriver.org wiki to shut down my MythTV box for thirty seconds to allow the card's registers to clear. That seemed to fix it.
