Well, alright then, it's not SELinux.

What version of udev are you running.  "rpm -qa | grep udev"

Do you have /sbin/firmware_helper installed?

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# locate firmware_helper
/sbin/firmware_helper
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# rpm -qf /sbin/firmware_helper
udev-084-13
