I had some problems with my system, and ended up upgrading from SuSE 9.2
(kernel 2.6.8) to SuSE 10.0 (kernel 2.6.13).
That caused a whole slew of problems itself, most of which I've taken care
of.
The one problem left is that my tuners (three PVR-150s) are acting up.
I upgraded to ivtv-0.4.4, and have gone over everything in the setup and
troubleshooting guides about a dozen times. I've made sure only the
ivtv-compiled drivers are in /lib/modules, and I've made sure that the
firmware is the latest and greatest (and checked the md5 checksums).

But the problems remain. One of my cards has a direct tuner input, and it's
fine. The other two cards are fed from cable boxes through s-video. The
picture has been fine (although during troubleshooting one was giving me b/w
only). The sound on both (which used to be fine) started out as nothing but
hissing. After some fiddling (and I'm still not sure what changed), I got
sound, but now it crackles and sounds blown out and clipped (as if the gain
is way too high somewhere).
I switched to tuner input on these cards, since I couldn't figure out the
problem, and I thought that a degraded image (vs svideo) would be better
than crappy sound. This was OK for a while, but then one of the cards
decided not to deliver any sound, either.

As far as the setup goes, everything seems to look right, and after way too
many hours on the problem, I'm stumped.

I'm including output from dmesg below. (The middle card (ivtv1) is the one
that gave me b/w output for a while and has no sound now.)

Thanks for any help!

Paul
