I have the NTSC version of the Hauppauge receiver, but I was
told by Hauppauge support that the “ pal “ version of the card was
not for pal-m, but for other PAL formats that are used in Africa and Europe. I have configured the card, I am running IVTV 0.6.2 but all
I can get is Bad-quality black and white. I have changed the card to use PAL
format by using Modprobe ivtv Ivtv_std=2 (in older versions of IVTV) ivctl –u 0x0000fff (more zeroes) and modprobe ivtv pal=m (for the 0.6.x branch). But after I do this, I get a “vertical sync” kind
of problem (the image gets garbled). What are the correct procedures to get the Hauppauge set to PAL-M?
