Hy Jonathan,
thanks for your answer. I uninstalled the Gentoo-Version and compiled it by
hand. The strange thing is: in dmesg or the kernel-log ivtv is still talking
as Version 0.4.2 although I compiled and installed the 0,6,x Module and I am
sure this module is loaded.

dmesg tells me:
ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ====================
ivtv: version 0.4.2 (tagged release) loading
ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.16-gentoo-r7 preempt K8 gcc-3.4
ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info between
ivtv: the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines, along with
ivtv: any module options, when mailing the ivtv-users mailinglist.

I installed the firmware you proposed, but as you told, it didn't help. Also
the version-bump (if it was one) didn't help, the problem remains. How about
this error line in dmesg:
"cx25840 0-0044: 0x0000 is not a valid video input!".
Why is it talking about a video-input, I thought this chip is for
audio-decoding!

Thanks a lot
Dominik
