I had some problems with my system, and decided to do an OS upgrade (from
SuSE 9.2 to SuSE 10.0). At the same time, I upgraded IVTV from 0.3.4 to
0.4.4.
After wrestling with firmware issues (new names, new locations), I got all
three of my PVR-150 cards working. However, I'm having trouble with two of
the cards that are connected to my cable converter boxes. Previously, I had
been using the S-video inputs, but now I get really bad sound out of them.
They sound like the audio is being overdriven. I checked the sound levels
with ivtvctl, but they were all normal.
Right now I'm using the tuner (RF) input, which is OK as far as audio, but
it's not as good as S-video for overall quality.
And I just tried out the latest firmware from Hauppauge's website, and there
seems to be a lot of variation in audio level from card to card.

Does anyone have any suggestions or pointers?

Thanks,

Paul
