I'm getting a black screen with static of every color when I playback my cat /dev/v4l/video0 > test.mpg with mplayer. I've also sent the test.mpg to friends (hoping it was a codec problem) but they all see the same thing.
I'm using 2.6.16-gentoo-r7 on an amd64 system. Motherboard is Asus A8V with VIA K8T800Pro and VIA VT8237.
