The problem is that you're using the cx25840 module from kernel 2.6.15
rather than the module from ivtv-0.4.6.  Any other kernel wouldn't be a
problem (see

I ran into the same thing and didn't get any help from the mailing lists
and finally figured it out on my own.  I removed the kernel cx25840
module, rebooted and was able to re-install ivtv-0.4.5 using ivtv's
cx25840 module.  I couldn't get it to install ivtv's module until I
rebooted for some reason.  Definitely makes a difference.
