Unless I am missing something, that thread doesn't help me. It says to put the firmware files in /lib/firmware which I have already done.
ls -ltra /lib/firmware total 1084 drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 2006-06-19 13:13 2.6.15-25-k7 drwxr-xr-x 19 root root 4096 2006-06-20 10:07 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 155648 2006-08-02 16:17 v4l-cx2341x-init.mpg lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2006-08-02 16:18 v4l-cx2341x-init-mpeg.bin -> v4l-cx2341x-init.mpg -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 262144 2006-08-02 16:25 ivtv-fw-enc.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 262144 2006-08-02 16:25 ivtv-fw-dec.bin -r--r--r-- 1 root root 14264 2006-08-02 16:26 v4l-cx25840.fw -r--r--r-- 1 root root 376836 2006-08-02 16:26 v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 29 2006-08-02 16:28 v4l-cx2341x-dec.fw -> /lib/firmware/ivtv-fw-dec.bin drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 2006-08-02 16:28 . drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 2006-08-02 17:22 2.6.15-26-k7 I have also placed everything in /lib/firmware/2.6.15-26-k7 as suggested in another Ubuntu forum thread. How can I debug the modprobe to determine where the drivers are looking for the firmware files?
