I've had occasional instances of seeing DMA Error 0x0000000b with my two PVR-250s recording to the local hard disk using ivtv-0.4.6 on Ubuntu 5.10 and 6.06. I've have disabled powernowd and don't run any other cpu freq or RAID software that has been mentioned as causing this error (would LVM make a difference?). The errors result in corrupt recordings until I do a cold reboot of the machine. Tonight I had the following errors in my syslog while recording two shows. ivtv1 continued recording without problem.
Sep 13 19:08:43 localhost kernel: [17424907.364000] ivtv0 warning: ENC: (0) DMA Error 0x0000000b Sep 13 19:10:47 localhost kernel: [17425030.992000] ivtv0 warning: ENC: REG_DMAXFER 2 wait failed Sep 13 19:10:53 localhost kernel: [17425037.028000] ivtv0 warning: ENC: DMA still Pending while stopping capture! I can't recall seeing DMAXFER previously or having the recording stop like this. Any reason I would be seeing this if I'm not using cpu frequency changing software?
