Same thing happened to me last night. I did a yum upgrade and had to
reinstall ivtv. I reinstalled using yum and had to manually copy the
firmware into the appropriate location. /lib/firmware/v4l-cx25840.fw

Subject: [ivtv-users] lost IVTV

For some reason or anther I have lost ivtv, maybe auto yum update who
knows...

IVTV is installed via yum;
Installed Packages
ivtv.i386                                1:0.7.0-117.fc5.at
installed
ivtv-firmware.noarch                     2:1.8a-10.at
installed
ivtv-kmdl-2.6.17-1.2174_FC5.i686         1:0.7.0-117.fc5.at     installed

I looked through dmesg and there is no mention of ivtv modules being
loaded. I modprobed and it can not find the ivtv module.

This was working great... Any suggestions?

/mr
