Thanks:

vdr:~# ivtv-tune -f 639
/dev/video0: 639.000 MHz
vdr:~# cat /dev/video0 > /Media/test.mpg
xine /Media/test.mpg

The screen stays black.

I've found the following error-messages in /var/log/Xorg.0.log:

(II) Setting vga for screen 0.
(EE) IVTVDEV_TST(0)Framebuffer id from dev /dev/fb0is 0
(EE) IVTVDEV_TST(0)open /dev/video48 returned 7
(EE) IVTVDEV_TST(0)get_fb returned 0 fbid 0
(**) IVTVDEV_TST(0)Depth 24, (**) framebuffer bpp 32

and remember the message in /var/log/messages;
Sep 28 08:22:32 vdr kernel: ivtv0-osd warning: ivtvfb_check_var
Sep 28 08:22:32 vdr last message repeated 2 times
Sep 28 08:22:32 vdr kernel: ivtv0-osd warning: ivtvfb_set_par
Sep 28 08:29:47 vdr kernel: ivtv0: All encoder MPEG stream buffers are full.
Dropping data.
Sep 28 08:29:47 vdr kernel: ivtv0: Cause: the application is not reading
fast enough.

Is there an additionallog for ivtv? Where I can find it?

Thanks
Matthias
