I just ran across another problem. I am able to use the "dd if=/dev/video0 of=/dev/video16 bs=64k" test step right after I login but before I start X. However, once I start X, that command no longer works. In fact, when I try to do "cat /dev/video0 > somefile.mpg" it hangs the shell, I am unable to use ctrl-c to exit it, even "kill -9" won't stop the process. I'm using FC6, kernel 2.6.18 and whatever version of ivtv you get when you do yum install.
