Hi,

I have a PVR-350. I've got IVTV installed and can see tv output on my tv,
which
is great! Now, I'm trying to get the x driver working with a PVR-350 card so
that I can play video files on the tv, too. I'm following the instructions
here: http://ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Howto:XDriver

I think I am having trouble with ivtv_fb. When I try to run "cat /proc/fb" to
find out which framebuffer device to use, I get no output at all unless if I
first run "modprobe ivtv_fb". Afterwards, I get "0 cx23415 TV out", which
looks
good and makes me think I want to use /dev/fb0.

But I have some issues when I try to run "modprobe ivtv_fb".

If I do this from an xterm, it works, but when I switch to another virtual
terminal (i.e., with Ctrl+Alt+F1), it give me a blank screen. I can switch
back
to X-windows, using Alt+F7, so it seems like the computer is still responsive,
I'm just not being shown the console or something. (I checked, and nothing is
being output to the TV, either.)

Worse, when I try to run "modprobe ivtv_fb" without x-windows loaded, from a
regular console, I get "stair-steppy text" on the console and the console
becomes unresponsive.

The text looks something like this: (not a screenshot, i just wrote it down)

usbcore 134912 4 usbhind,echi_hcd,uhci_hcd
     ide_generic 2432 0
          sc_mod 22656 4
               ata_piix 11780 6
                   libata 74892 1 ata_piix

And this goes on: "scsi_mod, ide_disk, ide_cd, cdrom, piix, generic, thermal,
processor, fan, fbcon, tileblit, font, bitblit, softcursor, vesafb,
compatibility commoncap, ...", each with more numbers.

At this point, I can reboot the system by typing Ctrl+Alt+Delete, but can't
really do anything else. So, I don't think the system has crashed, it's just
again not letting me interact with the console for some reason. (I also looked
at the TV, and no console appears there.)

Anyway, I am pretty sure that I need to fix this before I can run X-windows
with
the X driver. When I try to just use "X -screen TV" without the ivtv_fb module
installed, I get error messages. Here is a section of my Xorg.0.log:

(II) LoadModule: "ivtvdev"

The relevant (I think) parts of my xorg.conf are:

Section "Device"
         Identifier "TV Card"
         Driver "ivtvdev"
         BusID "PCI:3:3:0"
         Option "ivtv" "/dev/fb0"
         Option "VideoOverlay" "on"
         Option "XVideo" "1"
         Screen 1
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
         Identifier "NTSC Monitor"
         HorizSync 30-68
         VertRefresh 50-120
         DisplaySize 183 122
         Mode "720x480"

                 HTimings 720 752 840 928
                 VTimings 480 484 488 504
                 Flags "-HSync" "-VSync"
         EndMode
EndSection

Section "Screen"
         Identifier "TV"
         Device "TV Card"
         Monitor "NTSC Monitor"
         DefaultDepth 24
         DefaultFbbpp 32
         Subsection "Display"
                 Depth 24
                 FbBpp 32
                 Modes "720x480"
         EndSubsection
EndSection

And lspci | grep video says:

03:03.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC15 MPEG-2
Encoder (rev 01)

Thanks so much!
