Your device number seems fine to me. Some sites I see say to use option "ivtv" and others say to use "fbdev". I can't get any X over the tv-out if I use ivtv but I can get xterms and mythfrontend to run if I use fbdev. My system is not totally functional yet either so take my experience with a grain of salt.
