So I'll have to try Fedora Core 5?  Does it matter whether I try x86_64 or

All of my old recordings play perfectly.  All of the recordings made since
the update play unwatchably bad.  

Maybe I'm not describing it right, because it's not flicker like when the TV
doesn't sync.  And for a few seconds it'll look good and then it looks like
part of the bottom of the image is repeated on the top but only every other
frame.  It looks like it's interlaced and parts of the image are moved around
every other frame or so.  I can make a short recording and post it somewhere
if someone has space.  I don't suppose you'd like me if I attached it here?
