Looks like a bug in fedora where you got an i586 kernel instead of an
i686 kernel. See the link below for more info:

I am having difficulty installing ivtv onto a fresh fedora5
installation. The card to be used is a PVR-500.
The system has just been installed and fully upgraded to
2.6.18-1.2849.fc6. Everything else seems to be working fine.
Ivtv Version: 0.8.1 Release: 122.fc6.at has been installed using
yum and rps from atrpms.
#/sbin/depmod –a
#/sbin/modprobe ivtv
Yields the following message:
FATAL: Error inserting ivtv (/lib/modules/2.6.18-1.2849.fc6/updates/
drivers/media/video/ivtv.ko): Invalid module format
In addition the following message is logged in the syslog:
Nov 24 02:25:04 pogo kernel: ivtv: version magic '2.6.18-1.2849.fc6
SMP mod_unload 686 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-4.1' should be
'2.6.18-1.2849.fc6 SMP mod_unload 586 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-4.1'
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Billy
