I bought a new WinTV 350, to turn my Linux workstation into a media
center, but unfortunately they seem to create revisions of it, so took
me a while to get the tuner working. (options ivtv tuner=38)

Loading the ivtv driver when udev does it and modprobe will hard freeze
the machine sometimes. I can get it to load, so it's hard to give a
precise reason for this.

Secondly, both on Windows and Linux the tuner will stop working, so I
can't switch channel. It continues to work like nothing is wrong, all
channel changes just does nothing, it's possible to recover on Linux by
unloading the modules and reloading them.

I've been unable to get lirc working with the card too, while the card
was in a Windows machine I forgot to check if the remote worked.

With all the recent defective cards reports, I'm wondering if thats
where my problem is.

I'm not sure, but I seem to have some crashes related to loading the
driver for the motherboards SB Audigy LS card, but I don't know how to
get udev to print what it's doing, so it just say loading udev and freezes.

AMD DualCore 5000+, 4 GB Memory, SB Audigy LS (MSI K9N Diamond
motherboard Sound), Nvidia 7300 video card.

A load without options ivtv tuner=38, I tried Kernel 2.6.19 and ivtv
0.9.x (That knows the card), but it seems the chance of crashing get
worse with the latest version.
