I compile the module and in each of the other directories
# perl Makefile.PL
# make
# make test
# make install

PROBLEM: I can not change channels with ptune.pl or ptune-ui.pl

***What works:
1. I can produce an mpg stream
2. I can watch channel 4 in mplayer ($mplayer /dev/video0)
3. Using the ptune if I change input like going to composite etc the
screen in mplayer becomes black so this part is working. When I try to
change channels the screen in mplayer produce a sudden flick but nothing
else happens. The konsole where I am running ptune produces the changes:

............snip..........
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/installations/ivtv/ivtv-0.8.2/utils/perl> perl ptune-ui.pl
channel input 4
channel input 2
Channel changed to 42, freq = '331250'
channel input 3
channel input 7
Channel changed to 37, freq = '301250'
.............snip...........

4. If I use ivtv-tune YES I can change the channels without problem.
5. In mythtv I could not change channels (this is from rpm of mythtv
which I have never used before, therfore takes this mythtv statement
with a grain of salt ;-)

****What I have tried:

1. The first attempt was using the kernek module (I believe 0.8.0.2)
that came with SuSE 10.2 (retail).

2. I removed the ivtv kernel module, reboot, and I build from source
ivtv 0.8.2. Both have the same behaviour.

3. The perl scripts use are the same in both attempts and came from the
ivtv 0.8.2 package.

4. The following are the values used:

.ivtv-tune
device /dev/video0
freqtable us-cable

.ivtvrc
[defaults]
VideoDevice=/dev/video0
FrequencyTable=ntsc-cable
TunerNum=0
Debug=0

Comment: I am not new in ivtv or mythtv. I was running it in SuSE 10.1.
This is a clean install of SuSE 10.2. There is no leftover files.

I appreciate any direction where I should look for this problem. I want
to solve it before I build mythtv. Just for testing I loaded some mythtv
rpm (0.20) and I could not change channels otherwise it looked ok. To be
sure I reinstall the whole OS so nothing is left :-)

Hope a Good New Years for all
