Can you post the INIT IVTV messages from dmesg, it will give much needed 
info.

tvtime will never work as it can not deal with mpeg. Use mplayer or xine 
(mplayer /dev/video0 for example).

If you used the ATrpms then all that is needed packages will have been 
pulled in as a dependency.
