Ubuntu Edgy
Kernel 2.6.18.1

I am using a Hauppauge PVR 500 MCE edition.
I have the silver and black remote working great with lirc_mceusb2.

I also have a DirecTV remote (RCA D770) which I also want to get working.
Using the vcr1 button, I have just about everything working as well.
Here is the picture of the remote:

And the codes for it:
http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/rca/D770

I have 1 outstanding issue.

When I press the Volume up and down buttons it appears to have changed the
code that was part of the above download. The remote allows you to control
up to 6 devices. I have an older 27" Sony TV. We use it to control the TV.
Once you set the TV codes up for the Sony, it appears that in all other
modes (vcr1, vcr2, dvd, aux, satelite) the volume up and down still control
the TV.

If I spark up irw and press the volume buttons nothing is registered.

How can I actually figure out what code is being sent from the remote? I
will just update the lircd.conf file with that code and allow it to control
both the TV and the volume for Myth. That is a reasonable work around
(unless someone has better ideas).

lirc_mceusb2 is automatically loaded on boot, when I issued a:\
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src$ sudo mode2 -d /dev/lirc0
mode2: error opening /dev/lirc0
mode2: Device or resource busy

I am not sure how to unload it so that I can perform additional tests.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Dave
