The question comes down to: Does anyone have a Dual Socket A

Are you running with two processors in the machine? I had problems for
the longest time running with two processors in my machine. I'm not sure my
problems were DMA related, but after not being able to upgrade to the
0.4.xbranch for about a year, I finally rebuilt the kernel, disabling
the SMP and
after that, the stability of the system improved markedly. It pained me to
disable the second processor, but having the system stable and knowing the
recordings would complete was worth it.

If your kernel is new enough, you might try Hans' latest release candidate.
He rearchitected the DMA handling so it would be handled from a central
location in the code which should help with SMP synchronization issues. I
think one other person said his SMP issues disappeared after moving to the
release candidate driver.

Good Luck,
