Hi,
I used the new driver 0.10.0rc1 with the new firmware to get the
failload problem solved, but failed.
ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ====================
ivtv: version 0.10.0 (tagged release candidate #1) loading
ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.18.17022007 SMP mod_unload PENTIUM4 REGPARM
gcc-4.1
ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info between
ivtv: the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines, along with
ivtv: any module options, when mailing the ivtv-users mailinglist.
ivtv0: Autodetected Hauppauge card (cx23416 based)
ivtv0: Unreasonably low latency timer, setting to 64 (was 32)
ivtv0: unable to open firmware v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw (must be 376836 bytes)
ivtv0: did you put the firmware in the hotplug firmware directory?
ivtv0 warning: failed loading encoder firmware
ivtv0 warning: Error -3 loading firmware
ivtv0: Retry loading firmware
ivtv0: unable to open firmware v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw (must be 376836 bytes)
ivtv0: did you put the firmware in the hotplug firmware directory?
ivtv0 warning: failed loading encoder firmware
ivtv0 warning: Error -3 loading firmware
ivtv0: Error initializing firmware
ivtv0: Error -19 on initialization
ivtv: ==================== END INIT IVTV ===================
I tried to put the fw in /lib/firmware with no success.
That was not really asthonishing, because there is a rule in
/etc/hotplug/firmware.agent, where the
fw is searched and /lib/firmware is beside /lib/usr/hotplug/firmware one
of the places.
But I didn't have found the 05_udev-early.rules in my rules.d directory.
And it is the same way like the older 0.8 driver:
If I rmmod ivtv and load it again, it works.
with kind regards
