Hi,
I'm running ivtv-0.10.1-126.fc5.at and friends, all up-to-date from
ATRPMs. Kernel is: 2.6.20-1.2307.fc5.i686 and udev is:
udev-084-13.fc5.2.i386
When I try and use mplayer to play directly from /dev/video1 (which is
my PVR-350) I see the following message, and there is no sound:
> [AO_ALSA] alsa-lib: pcm_hw.c:1248:(snd_pcm_hw_open) open /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p
> failed: No such file or directory
> [AO_ALSA] alsa-lib: pcm_dmix.c:864:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
> [AO_ALSA] Playback open error: No such file or directory
> Could not open/initialize audio device -> no sound.
> Audio: no sound
If I then go and make a link in /dev/snd:
ln -s pcmC1D0p pcmC0D0p
mplayer will now find the right sound device, and playback occurs with
sound.
MythTV still plays without sound, with or without the link in place.
Any ideas what's wrong?
